About Feng
Calling Cerritos / Irvine home, Ryan Feng, born September 20, began dancing in 2001 with the Chinese Association Dance Crew (CADC), during which time he was a captain and a coordinator, and stopped working with them in 2005. He was also a founder and former captain of Breed, an OCLA team founded in 2003, and has been a member of Chill Factor Crew.
Following college in 2006, where he earned a degree in studio art from UCI, Feng began working at a bank while taking photographs and dancing in his off time. After joining Quest in 2008, the 9 to 5 didn’t fit into the daily grind the crew took on in order to perfect their performance skills. Immediately prior to making ABDC in 2008, Feng left the bank and committed 100% to Quest. In March of 2009, Quest Crew were named the Season 3 Champions.
An avid writer and photographer, Feng jots his thoughts down on his blog and pursues a side career in professional photography. Over the years, Ryan has had the opportunity to teach dance workshops and has appeared as a guest dancer on “So You Think You Can Dance.” To stay motivated and creative, he draws inspiration from his teammates. If Feng weren’t able to dance he says he would continue to pursue a career in photography and probably would continue his education even further.
Ryan Feng’s advice to those with dreams — Just do it! It doesn’t matter who believes in you, who doesn’t believe in you, who agrees with your dreams, or who doesn’t agree with your dreams. These are YOUR dreams and his advice is to put 100% into making your life play out just the way you want it to.
