Steve's Blog: Chris Brown's "Fine China" Music Video
Choreographers Rich and Tone contacted me to submit dancers to audition as triad gang members for Chris' new music video that was part dance and part fighting. I worked for Rich and Tone on the upcoming movie "Battle of the Year: The Dream Team" and the Black Eyed Peas "Pump It" music video and we had been talking about collaborating in the future. It panned out that this was a perfect match for me to be the fight choreographer =)
A ton talented dancers were in the audition but there were many different cuts for different reasons like look, choreography skill, freestyle skill, and athleticism. In the end, 3 of 4 of my picks booked the job (including Hok =P). One thing I must say is that Chris Brown is extremely talented and hard working. He picked up the fight choreography very quickly and took and worked on the notes that were given to him and it showed. Hok impressed me with his reactions and timing for never doing fight choreography before.
Here are some pics from the shoot!
